by Allyse Hazeltine

The reviews are coming in! Check out this short but sweet review of Dr. Fawzia Tung’s “The Wonderful Tale of Donkey Skin.” Allyse Hazeltine is the 12 Books Program Director at Mesa United Way. Review posted with permission.

In The Wonderful Tale of Donkey Skin, Fawzia Mai Tung provides a child-friendly,
engaging version of the tale. Written in a script format with dialogue between a
grandmother and grandchild, this book makes the story more easily accessible to young
readers as the grandchild character asks many of the questions young readers might
also ask. The script format also allows for a reader’s theater-type reading, which can be
helpful and engaging for struggling readers. The included teacher resources at the end
are a huge bonus and provide numerous post-reading activities for students. Fawzia’s
book is engaging and accessible to children and would be especially useful in
classrooms!
